I too have held on to so much physical stuff that it is at times overwhelming. My life has been turbulent and I think I have held on to stuff as somehow a safety net of the better times.I found your article when I was researching because I have decided to be a professional de-clutterer myself, and wanted to see what else was "out there" in services and information. I am finding that it is another whole area of expertise and psychology than I had though! Thank you for such a helpful article.
